Two friends are
repairing a damaged wall.
What an awful
wall! It has been damaged.
Sure
thing. It is filled
with cracks!
Let’s wash it
first. I’ll fill these buckets with water.
Then we’ll need
plenty of filler to put into these
cracks. When they are filled up we can paint the wall.
There was a
fire inside the house. Fire fighters
went into the smoke-filled rooms.
Did they put the
fire out quickly?
Yes. They are brave. The idea of fighting a fire fills me with fear.
Some old
armchairs had bad filling. It made them soft but the filling caught fire from a cigarette.
Well, the wall is
clean now. Let’s fill the cracks.
Who is paying for
the work?
The landlord filled in forms for his insurers. He wrote all the details and they will pay.
Filling in forms fills me with fear
too. I am afraid of making mistakes.
All this hard
work is good for our muscles.
We are both filling out. We were too thin before.
We can stop
now. The filler will dry while we have a lunch break.
Good. I have brought cheese rolls. They will fill
me up.
Yes, rolls and
sandwiches are filling .They make us feel full.
I wonder which filling I have
in mine today. Tuna and salad! Good.
Tell
me. Did you try to get that new
job?
No luck. They had filled
the job already. They had given it to
someone else.
Were
they helpful?
Yes, they filled me in about another job.
True. They helped me to fill in the application form.
You are a trained
carpenter. People need them.
They said I
could fill a gap in the market.
Good luck! Just now I’m thirsty!
We have plenty
of tea. We can drink our fill.
